Jamie Carragher has backed Chelsea to earn bragging rights over London rivals Tottenham and expects Manchester United’s misery to continue.
Former Liverpool and England defender Carragher ran the rule over six of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures as part of Sky Sports’ Super 6 segment.
One of the most intriguing contests sees Tottenham, who had gone six games in a row without a win before Monday’s 3-1 victory over Coventry City, visit fierce rivals Chelsea.
Much was expected of Spurs this season following a strong summer transfer window and the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, but several poor results hinted at another year of disappointment for fans of the north London club.
Chelsea, in contrast, made a strong start to the season before a wobble prior to the international break saw Xabi Alonso’s side slip out of the Champions League spots.
The Blues quickly rediscovered their form upon the return of Premier League football, however, winning their last two games, scoring seven goals in the process.
Carragher expects Chelsea to make it three wins on the bounce on Saturday evening and struggles to see Everton troubling reigning Premier League champions Arsenal.

Michael Carrick’s job as Manchester United manager may be on the line when Bournemouth visit Old Trafford on Sunday and Carragher has tipped the visitors to seal a famous victory over the struggling Red Devils.
Elsewhere, Carragher has backed his former club Liverpool to end Brighton’s four-match winning run and can envisage Coventry beating relegation-threatened Fulham.

‘What a cracking line-up we have in the Premier League this weekend,’ Carragher told Sky Sports.
Jamie Carragher’s Super 6 predictions
Arsenal 3-1 Everton
Coventry City 2-1 Fulham
Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham
Manchester United 0-2 Bournemouth
Liverpool 2-1 Brighton
Sunderland 2-3 Leeds United
‘I don’t think Arsenal will have any problems beating Everton especially given how strong they’ve been this season.
‘However, Brighton might not be so lucky at Anfield as I can see Liverpool ending their winning streak. Elsewhere, I see Chelsea winning against Spurs at home on Saturday.’
Concerningly for Manchester United, ex-Premier League striker Chris Sutton has also backed Bournemouth to triumph at Old Trafford.

‘After all the stick I got from Man Utd fans for saying they would get thumped by Leeds last weekend, it turns out I was only a few days out – it happened against Como instead,’ he told BBC Sport.
‘United have been poor all season, though. That’s why I went for them to be despatched like that – the 5-0 scoreline was a little bit tongue in cheek, but the point I was making has been proven this week.
‘The Bruno Fernandes criticism of Michael Carrick just adds to the problems United have at the moment – it is as if they are at the stage now where you have to pick who you want to back.
‘I don’t know where United go from here but I am going for a Bournemouth win – the Cherries will attack them, and their great recent record at Old Trafford will give them confidence too.
‘If United do lose, I think it will be the end for Carrick because I just don’t see how he survives this. Even if United get something from this game, it is still just a matter of time before he goes.’
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest visit Ipswich Town while leaders Manchester City travel to Aston Villa.
Crystal Palace welcome Newcastle United to Selhurst Park and Hull City play host to Brentford.
